Family Friendly Options Near Main Beach

There’s nothing quite like a family getaway over the Easter holidays, and it’s even better when it takes place on the beautiful Gold Coast. There is just so much for families to do near our Main Beach location. Plan the ultimate action packed family holiday and make the most of the school holidays this Autumn.

Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets

Just a quick 5 minute drive from our accommodation you can find the famous Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets. Head to the Esplanade and discover a huge array of stalls with unique offerings, artisan creations, produce, gourmet provisions, gifts, souvenirs, and so much more. Enjoy free entertainment such as buskers and roving performers. There’s a reason this has been a favourite spot for Gold Coast visitors to explore since 1995.

When you are finished indulging in a little retail therapy, you can recharge and relax with ease with a great choice of cafes and restuarants just steps away. Alternatively, you can step out onto the sand and enjoy a stroll along the waters edge, or simply kick back and watch the waves roll in. If you are feeling adventurous, there’s lots of fun spots to discover in Surfer Paradise.

Indulge in a little retail therapy at the Paradise Centre or the trendy shops along Cavill and Orchid Avenue. Discover Holoverse Surfers Paradise, Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium, Build-A-Bear, the famous Gold Coast Wax Museum, and more! There’s plenty to explore on foot close to the beachfront markets and the whole family will be happy they stopped by.

GC Aqua Park

When you head up the coast from our accommodation, at short 6 minute drive will take you to the impressive Broadwater Parklands. Situated just offshore you can find the GC Aqua Park, which offers some serious fun for families. It’s the only inflatable water park on the coast, and you can slip, slide, bounce, climb, swim, run, and jump your way across a 600m obstacle course. There’s nothing like a little friendly competition, so why not enjoy a race and some laughs out on the water.

Kids do need to be 5 years old as a minimum to take part in the fun, and children under 10 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. Life jackets are provided, and it’s lifeguard patrolled, so your family is in safe hands for having some serious fun. Sessions start on the hour, and last for 50 minutes.

Broadwater Parklands

When you are back on dry land, you’ll be happy to discover that there’s plenty more to do just steps from GC Aqua Park. Not only do the Broadwater Parklands boast some impressive playgrounds, picnic areas, and bike/scooter tracks, flying fox, bouncy pillow, and railway track. The Great Lawn and outdoor stage hosts some pretty fantastic events for the family to get involved in.

You can often find sporting events, classes, live music and entertainment, music festivals and so much more. The Gold Coast Aquatic Centre is ready to welcome you for a swim at the northern end of the parklands, the artificial rockpools and splash zone next to the Great Lawn is perfect for younger kids, and there’s plenty of spots for fishing enthusiasts to discover.
